I gave a talk today at Goldsmiths, University of London, speaking to the students and lecturers of the MSc in Music, Mind & Brain and MSc in Psychology of Aesthetics, Neuroscience and Creativity. The talk was titled Computational theories of aesthetics, and presented an argument for why computational theories are crucial for the goal of developing complete scientific theories of musical aesthetics. I was very impressed by the eagerness and insightfulness of the Goldsmiths students, who really got stuck into the topic despite its more technical aspects. I look forward to seeing what kinds of academic journeys these students make in the future!
