Isaac Sebenius is an affiliate researcher at the CMS and completed a PhD in Psychiatry and MPhil in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. Currently, he is an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School. In his doctoral work, Isaac developed computational tools to characterize brain network structure, its genetic influences, and its relevance to psychiatric disorders. At the CMS, Isaac is studying how expectation can be used as a tool to probe how human listeners and computational music models (from classical probabilistic approaches to modern foundation models) converge and diverge in their music perception. Alongside his scientific work, Isaac is a classically trained pianist and enjoys dabbling in electronic music production.
